The wife and I had a free night away from the kid. Wanted to go somewhere nice. The service was great but the food did not meet expectations. We've been there several times over the years and usually enjoy it. Problems started with the appetizer. The crab cakes had no crab in it. The waiter took it back and later explained they use imitation crab in it. For $40 for 2 small crab cakes at a steakhouse I expected real crab. We ordered the filet mignon special that ended up being over cooked. We had already complained once so we didn't do it again. The manager was supposed to take off the crab cakes from the bill but it was still there when they brought the check. Our Uber was outside so I didn't get the chance to bring it up. For $400 and it was just a dinner for 2 I expected more.

Took my team to Larsen’s Grill in Oxnard for our end-of-the-year dinner and it was such a great choice. The whole experience from start to finish was awesome. I ordered the steak with a couple drinks and everything was seriously top tier. The steak was cooked perfectly and the drinks were just as good. The atmosphere really stood out too. It has a great vibe that feels upscale but still comfortable and welcoming. Perfect spot for a team dinner, date night, or just a nice night out. Everyone in our group had a great time and we were already talking about coming back before we even left. Definitely a 10/10 experience and a place I’d highly recommend checking out.

I've been looking at this restaurant for a long time, and I wanted to come! Everyone says that the prices here are too high for Ventura County! I thought maybe it's because the food and service are great. But I was very wrong!! I was very disappointed!! The only good thing is the cozy atmosphere and dim lighting. That's about it. We were choosing between seafood and steaks, and the waitress, Eva, suggested the steak. However, we ended up with a rubbery steak (I requested medium-rare, but they served it medium-well). The asparagus was icy, as if it had been prepared for other guests in the morning, but they refused to eat it, and it was served to us in the evening! The knives were very dull! My finger was sore from pressing on the terrible knife! The service was slow! It was very noisy, like in a nightclub, even though there was a pianist sitting in the corner! They didn't even have a small stage for the musicians! The dirty plates and glasses were not removed from the tables until you left! What I want to say is... I've been dreaming about this restaurant, and when I come here, I say, "These steaks are terrible, and the service is disgusting!"

Went to Larsen's for wife's birthday dinner. Had a great server helping us from beginning to end (Alfred). Helpful ordering and helping with questions. Great servers at the entrance, sitting you down and when leaving the place. Alfred was really attentive from beginning to end. You pay for what you eat. But most important food was super great 5 star 🌟 plus. Thank you Larsen's and servers for a great night.
